RE: Haley's Next Single/Video???? Thoughts?
I think Listen is a logical choice for a video. It has a good message along with a strong beat and catchy chorus. I view it as the best candidate to be a successful single (although I'm not sure what a "single" is these days for an indie release).
I often check out what is going on with Haley videos on FB. They come up regularly and one can see new fans coming on board on a daily basis. What gets shared on FB are PMJ videos mostly, mixed in with some CHFIL. But, it is relatively rare to see any of her original songs show up (HOTRS from AI comes up more often it seems).
I think one of the reasons for this pattern is that people tend to share videos on FB, and Haley hasn't done much video-wise with her originals. In terms of commercial success and broader appreciation of her music, she is missing the boat by not using YT and FB more IMO. I think Youtube has been a great source of recognition for Haley -- with her PMJ work where she has more than 70 million views. While perhaps not as valuable on a per view basis she now probably has a couple hundred million views logged on FB uploads (primarily from the CHFIL commercial and direct uploads to FB by PMJ or others using PMJ material). So yeah, they're a good source of publicity.
A lot of people know her as a PMJ singer or love her rendition of CHFIL, and many recall her as having been on American Idol. But to a large extent these listeners have no clue that she has released two albums of original material. While the work of Tusk and others in capturing and posting concert footage is fantastic and much appreciated, those videos do not draw the broad exposure that releasing videos on her own site would bring to Haley. IMO. As PMJ has shown, videos do not have to be fancy and high budget. I think this would be a much more effective strategy to promote her music than those visits to radio stations (although the two aren't mutually exclusive).
