I hadn't heard the nam Avicii but I guess I've heard that music for sure around (I don't listen much to the radio but I guess its just places ... maybe it was in that step up movie...)

I agree with you about it not seeming like a "headliner"

... and the beat seems just like what they'd play in a hot bar or dance club (well those places I frequented in the early 1990s beat seems about the same.. "bump music" remixes to make the places feel exciting.

The guy's voice is pretty good though and when he sings it is way more interesting that lots of newer stuff... it does have a sound of its own a bit (sort of a bit of 80s new age "depech mode" on top of a pop beat.

Its funny but I guess all this recent watching of Idol and The Sing-Off (I loved that show.. really loved it) ... havn't got hooked the few times I watched the voice..... has got me listening more carefully to newer music (like stuff that came out the last 10 years)

I gotta say I am more and more impressed by lady gaga who I had initial negatives to her without maybe really listening carefully enough
