I'd say it was the inspiration for the photo. Someone on MJs suggested the cover art for Haley's single was demeaning and akin to a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover. She's actually showing less skin than Rita.

Be prepared for all the controversial comments you will hear from the Haley haters. During the AI contest and the show there was a few individuals that were making accusations that Haley is nothing but a sex kitten, and that she's using her looks and her body to get votes. You know what I say? F==K that S--t I think it's cool looking and she's making a statement. She's going back to the 50s and 60s into the retro world. When you see Haley performe especially lately with all her radio interviews she has nothing but class I love it.

I love the pose and the photo. A relatively rare photo because Haley is not either smiling or singing (excluding shots of her looking at the Randy while getting feedback). I do wonder if someone tried to Del Rey her upper lip a bit.
